New Product Development acts as the interface between R&D and Production. The team is involved in all stages of product development from concept to post-launch activities. All candidates must have excellent laboratory skills, ability to troubleshoot and an understanding of molecular biology. An ideal candidate will have experience with 10x assays, reagent manufacturing and QC development. This is a non-exempt temporary contract position with the possibility of conversion. This individual must be a self-starter, quick learner and detail oriented, work well in a team atmosphere, have good communication skills, ability to adapt and thrive in working in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
- Test new materials, tools, and workflows to improve 10x’s state-of-the-art single cell products.
- Work with key internal and external partners to help troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- Run experiments to assess the impact of protocol, reagent, or process changes on 10x’s single cell assays.
- Update manufacturing documents and initiate non-conformance reports or deviations as needed.
- Execute experiments according to defined procedures, maintain good documentation and present results.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, analytical chemistry, or related fields.
- 4 years (BS) or 2 (MS) years of relevant experience in reagent or assay development and optimization, preferably in the Biotechnology industry.
- Experience with generating NGS libraries and looking at NGS data
- Experience with a broad variety of molecular biology and analytical techniques including qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, use of plate readers, Bioanalyzers, gel imagers, real-time PCR instruments, etc.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines under supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technology transfer or product sustaining experience.
- Previous work or exposure to 10x single cell assays.
- Experience following laboratory protocols that involve handling either cells and/or nuclei.
