10x Genomics is seeking a Buyer to join our dynamic Singapore Supply Chain Team. This individual will have primary responsibilities of managing procurement activities as well as identifying and driving various process improvement projects. The individual will report to the APAC Supply Chain Associate Director and will work closely with other teams such as Planning, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance and Marketing.
What you will be doing:
- Execute material planning and procurement activities promptly.
- Review and analyze planning reports to ensure timely materials availability for production.
- Proactively manage supplier delivery plans, ensuring on time delivery.
- Ensure supply continuity during product transfers, as needed.
- Execute localization during and after product transfer phases.
- Track monthly KPIs, report on supply chain performance and recommend process improvements.
- Manage EOL materials and Last Time Buys, collaborating with CPD / Engineering on alternatives.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance metrics
- Assist Global Procurement Team with supplier price negotiations.
- Control inventory by aligning forecast data and stock strategies with planners.
- Identify and drive process improvements to improve supply chain performance.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred. Diploma holders with more years of experience will also be considered.
- 3 years of experience in direct purchasing and material planning
- 1 year of experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Meticulous, have an eye for details and ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Great quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to think creatively to identify new and better solutions
- Organized, detail-oriented and a service mentality to internal customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to take up larger responsibilities
- Experience with Oracle
- Ability to travel when required
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in the life science industry
- Category knowledge in chemicals and consumables
