As a Software Engineer in the Customer Integrations & Tooling team, you will work on the systems and tools that enable successful customer onboarding, integrations with third-party platforms, and efficient internal operations. This is a growth-focused role, where you’ll get hands-on experience building production systems while learning from a supportive, experienced team.
You will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Engineering, and Product teams, contributing to customer-facing integrations and internal tooling that are critical to the day-to-day success of the Brightflag platform.
What You Will Be Doing
- Build, maintain, and enhance internal tooling and customer onboarding applications used by our Customer Success teams.
- Develop and support integrations between Brightflag and external customer systems such as ERP and financial platforms (e.g. Oracle Financials, Coupa).
- Work across the stack, contributing to database queries, backend services, and front‑end components where required.
- Translate customer and internal requirements into reliable, well‑tested technical solutions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement scalable and maintainable integration solutions.
- Contribute clean, readable code and participate in code reviews to develop best engineering practices.
- Support and improve existing tooling and integration processes, helping to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Learn and grow within an Agile development environment, gaining exposure to modern development workflows and CI/CD practices.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you need to have/be:
- 2-4 years of professional Java development experience
- Experience with the Spring Framework
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Good understanding of web applications, including exposing REST APIs & RESTful web services
- Experience with SQL databases (preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- Experience in AWS (or similar)
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- A collaborative and growth mindset
The following are a bonus
- Exposure to RESTful APIs and system integrations
- Familiarity with front‑end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or similar frameworks
- Experience with templating engines (e.g. Freemarker)
- Awareness of integration patterns, SOAP APIs, or basic IT security concepts
- Experience building SaaS products
- Experience working in high-growth environments

Location & Eligibility
This role offers a flexible work location across Ireland. Whether that be in the office remote from anywhere in Ireland, or a mix of office/remote work in Ireland, you choose what works best for your lifestyle.
There will be travel to Dublin once a quarter for team and company meet-ups.
