We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Global Payroll who will lead DataRobot’s end to end payroll function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate that wants to have a critical voice in an organization that is operating at an accelerated pace. The Senior Manager, Global Payroll Manager will be responsible for United States and International Payroll processing and managing global payroll compliance and employee related taxes. In addition, you will be responsible for working with service providers to ensure all required filings are accurate and timely. You will serve as a technical leader to the Company on complex payroll related matters. You will also have people leadership responsibilities, managing a team of 2 Payroll team members.

This is a remote position. We are open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide and promote exceptional customer service to employees through timely and
    detailed communication.

  • Provide direction, coaching and leadership to the Payroll Specialist team.

  • Review and process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls in the United States. Ensure
    compensation, variable pay, withholdings, and deductions are correct.

  • Coordinate, manage, and review international payroll service providers to ensure payroll
    process is accurate and timely.

  • Maintain strong evidence of the payroll review procedures to ensure accurate payrolls.

  • Coordinate with the People Team and Sales Operations Team for the establishment of proper
    cutoff of employment information and compensation to ensure timely and accurate
    payroll.

  • Research complex payroll and taxation questions such as multistate, global mobility, and
    fringe benefits to advise the business on best practices.

  • Maintain and update the Company’s payroll procedures and policies.

  • Have a strong understanding of risks and controls: Identify unmitigated risks, and then propose
    and implement controls as needed.

  • Review payroll journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll & benefits
    related analytics.

  • Partner and provide support to the People Team.

  • Review payroll tax registrations.

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and reporting requirements.

  • Manage the Company’s 401K plan including ensuring appropriate system configuration and timely and accurate funding.

  • Stay up to date with ongoing payroll and HR changes to legislation

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technology platforms used by HR and platform and help to implement systems, modules, and features to improve quality and efficiency of HR and payroll functions.

  • Assist in various special projects as they arise. Projects may involve the implementation of new systems, creation of new policies, etc.


Desired Skills

  • 10+ years in progressive payroll related experience

  • 2-3 years of People Management experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, although not required.

  • CPP designation is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience managing both US and International payroll

  • Strong knowledge of IRS and international employee taxation rules and regulations with a continued desire to continue to develop knowledge.

  • Experience in working with multi-state, global mobility, and taxable fringe benefits.

  • Strong understanding of payroll system structure including relationships with HR,
    recruiting, general ledger, and other systems.

  • Workday experience required

  • ADP, Cloudpay, and NetSuite experience is a plus.

Compensation Statement

The U.S. annual compensation range for this full-time position is between $125,000 and $180,000 USD/year. This range represents the annual base salary. Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range based on various factors, including (but not limited to) the candidate’s work location, job-related skills, experience, and education.
