Position Summary
The Senior Manager–Sensor Chemistry is a senior technical leader responsible for serving as the subject matter expert in colorimetric sensor technology while leading hands-on development of new chemical sensor formulations, including sol-gel and polymer systems, and guiding cross-functional collaboration with microbiologists, engineers, data science, and functional collaboration teams. The role oversees product development activities for new R&D through verification, validation, and manufacturing support, manages a team of scientists and engineers, improves chemistry-related manufacturing processes, defines technical specifications, and ensures regulatory submissions are met. It requires 6+ years of industry experience (preferably in FDA-regulated environments), strong expertise in chemical formulation and analytical chemistry, proven leadership and excellent communication and organizational capabilities.

Primary Duties
- Individual technical leader as the subject matter expert on colorimetric sensor technology that will provide support of current and new products.
- Provide hands-on technical support to team with advanced chemistry skills.
- Lead and manage technical development related to colorimetric sensor technology: hands-on role in new sensor formulation projects and sol-gel and polymer formulation optimization.
- Lead technical development and optimization of sensor chemistry.
- Lead and manage technical aspects of R&D requirements, as well as technical process development, optimization, revision, and execution.
- Drive improvement of sensor chemistry processes and methods in collaboration with cross-functional groups. Help design new chemistry tests to ensure critical quality attributes are monitored.
- Ensure technical requirements are met for new product development and process improvement.
- Lead and manage technical investigations and root cause analysis of colorimetric sensor chemistry-related issues.
- Lead and manage technical documentation and reporting of sensor chemistry development, optimization, and qualification within the company by designating roles and responsibilities, participating in action planning, and ensuring timely completion.
- Lead and manage technical documentation required in various chemistry R&D projects.
- Lead and manage technical documentation required in various chemistry R&D projects, set requirements for new products, run verification on those requirements, participate in validation as required.
- Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, scientific procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor degree required
- 6 years of industry experience in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry, and sol-gel formulations and demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others
- Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering
- Advanced degree preferred in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of approximately 1–5 employees; no indirect supervision.
- Working Conditions: Includes physical requirements such as prolonged stationary positioning, stair and ladder use, PPE wear, and material handling up to 50 pounds. Travel required: up to 50% during Q2 and Q3 of 2026.
