About the Team

New Verticals is building the future of local commerce by bringing new ways to delight our customers to market - beyond restaurants, across both the US and Canada. Think businesses like Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, Retail and more to come! We are looking for top talent to play a pivotal role in growing our International New Verticals business! We are looking for someone who is excited about joining a fast-paced environment and driving our next wave of growth.

About the Role

We are hiring two Associates based in Canada to support our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team. In these roles, you may be responsible for identifying, leading, and prioritizing initiatives to improve our operating rhythms across New Verticals, impacting both the US and Canadian businesses. You will lead short term execution, strategize long term plans and implement product features that may:

  • Optimize the dasher’s performance through improving quality & efficiency

  • Improve costs and how we manage towards our bottom-line goals

  • Enhance our catalog quality around completeness & discoverability

You’ll partner with other strategy & operations teams, enterprise partner managers, product, engineering, analytics and internal other stakeholders. Since we have two roles open, you’ll be considered for both roles and we will align based on interview performance and role fit, which team is best suited for your skills. This role is currently an individual contributor position. We operate in a hybrid model - so we spend some time working remotely and some time working in person together. You must be currently based in Toronto or Vancouver.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash’s New Verticals business by improving scalable processes, enhancing data quality, catalog health, efficiency metrics and so much more!

  • Experiment. You’ll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans. Your experiments will start small, with a metrics-based approach to scale internationally.

  • Analyze. You’ll analyze operational data rooted in quality, cost and efficiency metrics to inform strategy. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data. You will use AI tools to enhance, not replace your work and scale new ways of automating.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You are a self-starter – You have a bias for action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

  • You are a problem solver – You have a talent for synthesizing complex problems, can translate high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing a process. You’re excited to think innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.

  • You are analytical – You use data to inform tough decisions, and are comfortable operating at both the 10,000 foot level and at the 10 inch level. You are comfortable in tools like Excel, SQL and more!

  • You are becoming AI native. You are working to gain experience with AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate problem-solving, analysis, or workflow execution.

  • You work to get 1% better every day – You're always looking for opportunities to better your work product and own the outcome – both the good and the bad

  • You have 1-2+ years experience in consulting, finance or related strategy and operations.

  • You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree.
