Summary

Elephas, a Madison, WI-based biotechnology start-up company, is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our team. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have high intellectual curiosity with experience designing, developing and maintaining control software. You will write robust, real-time code that controls precise motion of stages, cameras, and various subsystems. This is a hands-on role where the software will directly impact instrument performance, reliability, and quality. Your experience will be applied to the development and optimization of transformative cancer diagnostic solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Enhance functionality and scalability of the Elephas instruments through technology innovations
• Develop and maintain instrument control software
• Implement drivers, communication protocols, and state-machine logic
• Design and integrate feedback control loops
• Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and regulatory activities

Education/Experience/Skills

• C#, C++, and MATLAB
• Be onsite in Madison
• Experience with version control and working in a regulated environment
• 5 years of relevant experience
