Engineering Technician - EV

indiGOtech is reinventing vehicle architecture with our SmartWheels™ technology that integrates propulsion and active suspension directly into each wheel. This enables a whole new class of lighter, roomier and more efficient electric vehicles with superior user experience and unit economics. indiGOtech seeks an experienced, dedicated, hands-on technician to join our chassis design team in developing the next generation of electrified mobility. The technician will work with mechanical and electrical engineers throughout all project stages and have a direct effect on product development.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on assembly of automotive mechanical and electrical subsystems, including custom electric motors
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Assemble equipment from drawings, specifications, and schematics as well as verbal instructions from engineering during development cycles
- Develop assembly processes and provide design feedback
- Maintain prototype vehicles and design history documentation
- Run test equipment and record data with engineering support
- Run controlled tests on prototype vehicles with engineering guidance
- Assist in Electrical Assembly including soldering and basic diagnostics on product and vehicles
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience. B.S. Mechanical Engineering is a plus, or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Catia, LabJack, Python, data acquisition tools/software, Matlab/Simulink, and Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira are preferred
- Valid US driver’s license with a clean record
- In addition to these key skills, the ideal candidate will also have a strong work ethic and be motivated to learn new things. They should be passionate about automotive technology and be excited about the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects.
Successful Hires Have:
1. Strong technical skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive engineering and mechanics, including the employment of typical garage tools. Fabrication and 3D print experience would be a plus, along with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems. Be capable of lifting 50 pounds, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Exceptional candidates would also have experience with electric vehicle technology and robotics.
2. Problem-solving skills. The job will require the ability to identify and solve problems carefully and effectively. The candidate should be able to think critically and creatively, and be able to come up with innovative solutions.
3. Attention to detail. The work will involve working with precision instruments and components, so it is important that the candidate is able to pay attention to detail.
4. Communication skills. The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, and other members of the team. They should be able to clearly explain complex technical concepts and be able to listen to and understand feedback. Exceptional candidates would have experience with engineering technical documentation.
5. Multitasking skills. The job will require the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. The candidate should be able to prioritize tasks, focus on the most important ones, and switch gears quickly when needed. Exceptional candidates operate with minimal supervision while maintaining clear lines of communication and proactive reporting.

Job Title and Compensation
- The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $100,000, based on full-time employment.
