Ireland is home to External manufacturing’s global headquarters, the business unit responsible for the management of manufacturing contract operations (CMO’s) and ensuring reliable supply of product to patients across the Bristol Myers Squibb global network.
This includes management of, and working in conjunction with, third party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites; Global Headquarters based in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.

The Role
BMS External Manufacturing is looking to recruit on a permanent contract Associate Director, Finance GPS, FP&A COE,
reporting to Senior Finance Director - GPS FP&A and Transformation Lead.
The Associate Director, Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) FP&A COE, will lead financial planning processes and timelines, working closely with the Sr. Director FP&A and all GPS Finance units. This role involves tracking performance and business trends, identifying key risk areas, developing accurate budgets and projections, creating senior management presentations, managing GPS HQ budgets, and supporting various ad-hoc operational items and projects. The Associate Director will partner closely with all GPS Finance Business Units as well as Corporate Finance functions, reporting directly to the GPS FP&A COE Lead.
Based on your function, department or individual position, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your Manager the option to work remotely up to 50% of the time, over a two-week period, with the flexibility to choose the days that align with your collaboration needs
NOTE: This opportunity is available for BMS offices in: US New Brunswick and ExM Dublin and ExM Shannon, Ireland.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure relevant accounting procedures and controls are in place and all requirements for US GAAP are fulfilled
- Monitor business performance, challenge results, and develop recommendations to improve financial performance
- Lead the financial month close, variance analysis, management reporting, and presentation of key insights to GPS SVP Finance
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and projections with a lead role in consolidations and overall messaging/senior level presentation development.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support various initiatives
- Proactively identify, recommend, and lead improvements in financial analysis, reporting, and processes
Developmental Value:
- Support of the $3B P&L ($7B cost base)
- Exposure to GPS SVP Finance, GPS EVP, and other top business and finance leaders
- Drive business decisions and financial results
- Obtain a high-level understanding of GPS operations and manufacturing business units
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA and/or MBA in finance preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance roles
- Strong working knowledge of BMS financial systems, including SAP and Hyperion, preferred
- Strong accounting knowledge, financial, and analytical skills
- Ability to clearly communicate and story-tell; strong cross-matrix partnership skills; ability to influence and drive effective decision-making
- Ability to manage competing demands on time and resources
