This position will be responsible for providing guidance and support to Laboratory personnel and ensuring quality assurance and quality control of laboratory output by coordinating day-to-day testing and performing documentation review of product performance testing.
The schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Occasional overtime may be required.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage all routine QC testing on incoming materials, in-process, and finished goods. Testing includes areas such as pre-production, post-production, stability studies, controls evaluation, and finished kit inspection. Maintain QC skill proficiency.
- Facilitate inspection, testing and release for shipment of MEDTOXScan Readers. Review and maintain Reader documentation and records per requirements.
- Maintain documentation of activities performed according to approved procedures. Ensure effective review of Device History Records. Maintain QC records (i.e. file and retain per requirements).
- Facilitate RMTP testing for component materials. Maintain back-up incoming material inspection skills (for Receiving department).
- Initiate NMRs, TDNs, and Rework instructions as needed. Secure non-conforming product. Interact with department heads in troubleshooting QC issues and aid in completing effective corrective actions.
- Order control solutions used for QC, Formulations, Validations & Reagents, and stability testing, and facilitate the preparation and qualification of controls to be used. Interface with MedTox Laboratories for control quantification by GC/MS or LC/MS/MS.
- Administer lot control system (i.e., maintain logbooks, assign lot numbers and appropriate expiration dates for in-process and finished goods per requirements).
- Maintain controls and lab supply inventory. Order supplies as necessary.
- Facilitate effective and efficient QC Lab function.
- Approve product disposition and other product related documentation, act as authorized designee on behalf of Quality Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related life science.
- Minimum of 3 years laboratory quality control or clinical laboratory experience.
- Manufacturing Operations experience preferred.
- Understanding of cGMP laboratory operations, as well as policies and procedures.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment.
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
- Experience in data extraction and/or analysis
