If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our DNA/HLA team as a Sr. Technologist in Burlington, NC. The Sr. Technologist in this position will perform moderate to high complexity review and release of test/assay results according to established testing procedures in designated technical department. Follows standard operating procedures. Performs tasks/procedures as approved in training and competency records with minimal supervision. Performs those duties outlined in the incumbent’s LabCorp title job description. Additional duties as assigned.

The working schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 11:00am-7:30pm.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follows the laboratory’s procedure for test analysis, entering results, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results
  • Performs proficiency testing and documentation for all tests performed in accordance with CLIA, state and accreditation standards.
  • Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies; documents all quality control activities.
  • Follows the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test results are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
  • Identifies problems that may adversely affect test results or reporting of accurate test results and corrects the problem or immediately notifies the Laboratory/Technical Supervisor, Laboratory Manager and/or Technical Director.
  • Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
  • Assists other areas / rotations within the departments with specified assignments in a timely manner after the assigned job has been completed
  • Meets company attendance policy.
  • Ensures a professional work environment is maintained
  • Acts in a professional manner to colleagues; pleasant, shares information relevant to work, no gossiping or disparaging remarks
  • Cooperates fully and completely with all efforts to implement and enforce LabCorp’s Corporate Integrity Program
  • Releasing patient sample results
  • Effective communication with appropriate supervisor(s) on resulting issues
  • Prioritizing and monitoring different account resulting to ensure TAT is met
  • Sets a personal example of high ethical standards in performing assigned duties
  • Exhibits awareness of, and adheres to LabCorp’s compliance policies which apply specifically to the assigned duties
  • Delivers quality patient care while maintaining efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, medical technology or a related science. Must meet state and federal requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Sr. Technologist level
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred, not required
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
