The Executive Director, Commercialization is a strategic leader who works with key functions across Labcorp’s diagnostics and biopharma teams to ensure we have the strong portfolio planning, prioritization, and pricing strategy required for new product and service introductions. The role is also responsible for ensuring successful launches based on our launch methodology as well as measurement and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, with a bias toward driving innovative ways to grow our business, build competitive capabilities and serve our customers in new ways. This leader will work in close partnerships with key functions across Labcorp’s diagnostics and biopharma laboratory services teams including marketing, sales, science, finance, reimbursement, IT and others. They provide commercial leadership guided by market to help define where to play and how to win in our strategic focus areas.
Reporting to the SVP Brand, Insights and Commercialization, this role will be involved in high-impact decisions and initiatives undertaken, with exposure to Labcorp’s most senior leaders on a regular basis. This is a highly strategic role that requires a resourceful individual with experience in a matrixed organizational environment, self-motivation, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This is a remote role with the ideal candidate residing in the East Coast (US) time zone.
Essential Job Duties
Portfolio Management
Establish commercialization priorities through overseeing Labcorp’s product/service introduction pipeline, including market forecasting and portfolio prioritization in key growth areas
Develop, maintain, and improve key processes and tools needed to support portfolio decision-making and tracking across the portfolio
Work closely with science, clinical, product and segment marketing leaders on prioritization and go-to-market plans
Utilize market sizing and forecasting for new products; identify commercial potential and application for new market introductions
Present portfolio summaries and business insights to marketing and executive management to help shape key strategic business decisions including prioritization, timing, or resourcing tradeoffs
Define portfolio performance metrics and targets to measure and monitor the delivery and value of the new product portfolio
Pricing Strategies
Improve how Labcorp plans, prices, and introduces new products and services, bringing in insights around both traditional and alternative models
Develop, analyze, and implement pricing strategies to optimize revenue and profitability in Labcorp’s OnDemand consumer business, working closely with enterprise teams
Increase revenue opportunities through improved pricing approaches, in collaboration with consumer, payor, pharma, finance and reimbursement teams
Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies.
Support pricing decisions through better understanding of customer needs, market trends, reimbursement and other factors
Ensure strong collaboration across functions to provide timely communication of insights to all relevant partners
Team leadership
Directly lead a talented team (1-5 direct reports) with indirect leadership and partnering across the marketing organization and across the company.
Provide ongoing strategic views and direction on multiple initiatives while driving discipline of strategy and execution
Lead and influence change at all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
10-15+ years in commercial, finance or strategy leadership positions with a strong track record in driving business results in a highly matrixed organization. Management consulting experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
In-depth experiences working across with multiple pricing models (e.g. cost-plus, value based, dynamic pricing etc.)
Deep understanding of finance, healthcare pricing and payment landscape, including payor and reimbursement models in a highly regulated environment (Government, Managed Care, Private, and Consumers)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced matrixed environment with diverse customer groups and priorities
High energy, high integrity leadership style with a positive outlook, collaborative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
Track record of coordinating large projects with multiple stakeholders and producing tangible, high-quality results.
Proven ability to build and lead teams, drive business decisions, and manage multiple projects effectively
Results-driven self-starter with a strong executive presence, collaborative mindset, and ability to think strategically and analytically
Must be able to see the big picture and be willing to roll-up sleeves to deliver for our customers, partners and teams
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. MBA, MPH or other advanced degree is strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $220,000 - $240,000 annually + annual bonus and equity eligibility
