Strategic Account Manager - Government Programs (Medicare / Medicaid)

About the Role

As a Strategic Account Manager – Government Programs, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and expanding our partnerships with health plans focused on Medicare Advantage, Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP), and Medicaid. You’ll serve as a consultative partner to our clients, helping them achieve key performance and compliance outcomes while ensuring SafeRide’s operations align with evolving regulatory and member needs.
This is a high-impact, externally facing role for someone who thrives at the intersection of client relationship management, operational excellence, and healthcare innovation. You’ll be the lead orchestrator across implementation, reporting, contract oversight, and strategic account planning - helping SafeRide grow and deliver on our mission of removing barriers to care for the most vulnerable.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent client experience and lead data-driven conversations focused on how best to serve our membership in Medicare, DSNP, and Medicaid
- Serve as the ongoing client liaison and thought partner for all assigned accounts
- Lead client implementations in coordination with strategic accounts leadership and serve as a client training resource as required
- In coordination with operations management, define, implement, and oversee performance measures and operational goals for accounts
- In coordination with business intelligence and compliance, define, implement, and produce performance reporting on a regular basis with clients as mandated by Medicaid, Medicare, and local governing bodies
- Identify, address, and resolve operational and/or account-related issues
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding performance, status, and opportunities for improvement or growth to senior management
- Participate in contract management including new deals and renewals with perspective for client expectations, capabilities for data analysis and operational structure
- Responsible for developing, project managing, and implementing operations, procedures, and compliance requirements with contract in Medicare Advantage and/or Medicaid
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years in Account Management or Customer Success, preferably in healthcare
- Experience managing accounts with $500K+ ACV
- Hands-on experience with Medicare Advantage, DSNP, or Medicaid programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with regulated healthcare programs or compliance teams
- Background in consulting or solutions architecture
- Familiarity with healthcare reporting and performance metrics
- Exposure to program implementation methodologies
