Senior Education Sales Manager
Sales & Business Development
Tokyo, Japan
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
The Mission
The Global Revenue Enablement (GRE) organization exists to equip every audience in our ecosystem — field sellers, technical specialists, and partners — with the clarity, content, and skills they need to execute with speed and consistency. But enablement doesn't stop at the field. The fastest path to consumption is a customer who knows exactly how to use what they've bought.
That's where Customer Activation comes in.
We're building a function that embeds education directly into the account motion — not as a post-sale afterthought, but as a deliberate strategy to accelerate time-to-value, reduce friction in expansion conversations, and protect consumption in accounts that matter most.
The Customer Activation Partner for Japan & Korea will embed education into the account motion across a defined set of top accounts in both markets. This is not as a support function, but a deliberate strategy to accelerate adoption, reduce time-to-value, and surface the expansion signals that matter to the business.
You'll operate with significant autonomy, working directly with account teams, customers, and regional delivery resources to build education plans that drive measurable consumption outcomes. And you'll serve as the primary voice connecting what's happening on the ground in Japan and Korea back to the global curriculum and enablement organization.
Key Responsibilities
Account Education Ownership: Build and maintain education relationships with a defined set of strategic accounts across Japan and Korea. Develop account-level learning plans in partnership with account teams and ensure customers derive measurable value from their training investments
Pre-Sales Advisory: Engage early in deal cycles where education is a differentiator or a friction point; scope and solution education packages that accelerate customer confidence and deal progression
Localization & Cultural Fit: Partner with curriculum and delivery teams to ensure training content, delivery style, and instructional framing resonate with enterprise audiences in Japan and Korea — flagging gaps proactively and advocating for market-specific adaptations
Voice of Customer: Synthesize patterns from customer interactions — common customization requests, recurring knowledge gaps, support themes — and feed structured, actionable intelligence back to curriculum owners on a regular cadence
Voice of Partner: Gather ongoing feedback, training requests, and operational insights from regional partners and field stakeholders, synthesizing this intelligence into quarterly "Voice of the Japan and Korea Partner" reports to directly inform GRE strategies, align cross-functional priorities, and shape global content roadmaps.
Expansion Signal: Identify and flag education-adjacent indicators of upsell or expansion opportunity; translate high support volume, out-of-scope training requests, or onboarding bottlenecks into account intelligence for the broader GTM team
Sales Motion Integration: Build credibility with Japan and Korea field teams as a trusted resource; position education as part of the core account strategy rather than a transactional add-on
Program Delivery & Management: Scale and execute global partner enablement initiatives by managing regional delivery cadences, maintaining central scheduling visibility, and leading strategic program pilots to evaluate performance metrics and refine broad rollout strategies.
Regional Coverage: Be the cornerstone of GRE in both Japan and Korea
What we’re looking for
You know how enterprise Japan works. You've sold, enabled, or partnered with large Japanese enterprises and you understand what it takes to build trust in this market. You know the difference between a warm relationship and a productive one, and you know how to move between them. You're not learning Japan on this job — you're applying what you already know.
You're fluent in the language and the culture. Business-level Japanese is a hard requirement. You can run an executive conversation, navigate a difficult objection, and build rapport with a customer champion — all without a translator in the room. Korean fluency is a strong plus as the Korea book grows.
You connect education to outcomes, not activity. You're not here to deliver training hours. You care whether customers actually use what they learn, whether that translates to consumption, and whether the account team sees you as a strategic resource. You track the right things and you can make the case for education in commercial terms.
You operate independently. You'll be the primary Customer Activation presence in Japan and the lead for Korea, with a manager based regionally but not locally. You're energized by that ownership, not unsettled by it. You know when to escalate and when to just figure it out.
You're a strong cross-functional collaborator. Your success depends on how well you work with account executives, SEs, CSMs, and delivery teams — many of whom will be skeptical of education's role in the account motion until you show them otherwise. You bring patience, credibility, and persistence to that work.
You understand channel dynamics. You're not here to run generic workshops. You care whether GSIs, RSIs, and Resellers build true delivery capability, whether that drives regional pipeline and consumption, and whether partners view you as an indispensable strategic asset. You know how each partner type operates, and you can translate enablement into measurable business growth.
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in customer success, channel enablement, sales, revenue enablement, or a related customer-facing role in enterprise software or cloud technology
Business-level Japanese fluency (spoken and written) — required
Demonstrated experience working directly with enterprise accounts in Japan, including navigating complex stakeholder environments
Strong commercial instincts — able to connect education investment to consumption, retention, or expansion outcomes
Experience operating independently across a large or geographically dispersed territory
Excellent communication skills in English; ability to bridge effectively between local customer needs and a globally distributed enablement team
Preferred
Korean language proficiency (conversational or business-level)
Experience at a data platform, analytics, or cloud infrastructure company; familiarity with Snowflake's product ecosystem
Background spanning both pre-sales and post-sales motions
Experience designing or influencing training and enablement content for enterprise audiences
Existing network within the Japan or Korea enterprise data/cloud ecosystem
Familiarity with consumption-based revenue models and the customer adoption behaviors that drive them
Why This Role?
You'll carry real accountability with the autonomy to build the education motion the way it should be built — grounded in relationships, tied to consumption outcomes, and integrated into how the account team operates, not bolted on after the fact.
This is not a coordination role. You'll be the primary Customer Activation presence in market, reporting into the APJ lead and working directly with some of the most senior account teams in the region. Your work will be visible, your impact will be measurable, and the function you're helping build is still early enough that the way you operate will shape how it scales.
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
