About the Role

As an Associate Director, Commercial Systems and Data Analytics, you will act as the liaison between IT and the business to lead enterprise and commercial data management, integration and day to day reporting and analytics. This role will collaborate and partner with business stakeholders across the company, data warehouse vendors and IT to define and execute data strategy and roadmap for commercial and other enterprise business functions.

  • Understand and document business requirements and processes for data aggregators, specialty pharmacies, distributors, and 3rd party data providers.
  • Work closely with Information Security, Legal, and Privacy functions to establish data classification and security procedures to safeguard Tarsus’s internal and external data identifying and remediating any vulnerabilities.
  • Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes across enterprise and commercial data platforms.
  • Lead data governance and data quality analysis.
  • Be a subject matter expert in Data & Analytics domain including data storage (Data Lake & Data Warehouse), data ingestion from various sources, integration, business intelligence, executive, and dashboard reporting.
  • Evaluate, assess, and recommend right sized and scalable data platforms, tools for commercial and other enterprise functions.
  • Ability to solve complex data problems independently and collaboratively through hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Possess strong vendor management skills in identifying, selecting and managing vendors for data analytics platforms.
  • Develop business requirements and design specifications for commercial systems, data analytics and integrations.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team to design and architect an analytics solution to provide marketing campaign effectiveness, insights, and data reporting from commercial websites.
  • Support and train business users on data analytics platforms, visualization tools and how to present the data to business stakeholders at various levels in a simple and non-technical way.

Factors for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or business with 10 years of relevant work experience in architecting and implementing data warehouse and analytics solutions, in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.
  • Hands on experience in implementing and maintaining data and analytics capabilities to support commercial, sales, marketing, market access, pricing, patient services functions in a life sciences organization
  • Experience with integrating and ingesting some of the common data sources such as HCP data, claims data, payor data, inventory, and sales data from partners such as IQVIA, 3PLs and data aggregators into commercial data warehouse.
  • Hands on experience with Cloud data service providers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, data management tools such as Snowflake, Databricks and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire.
  • Experience with SQL and ETL tools.
  • Experience life sciences CRM applications such as Veeva, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and integrating them with data platforms.
  • Experience with designing system integrations using middleware and REST APIs.
  • Any experience working with data aggregators such as ConcertAI and commercial data warehouse providers such as Trinity Life Sciences will be a plus.
  • Experience in managing and supporting commercial websites and web traffic analytics.
  • Familiarity with agile development and project management methodologies
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, attention to detail, and good experience in working in a fast-paced organization with conflicting priorities and the ability to prioritize them based on the criticality and risks.

A Few Other Details Worth Mentioning:

  • This can be a hybrid role based in our corporate office or it can be a remote role working in pacific time zone with occasional travel to our beautiful Irvine office complete with a courtyard, table tennis, snacks and drinks, and occasional catered meals. Remote work is an option.

  • This position reports to the Sr. Director, Head of Digital and Information Technology.
  • Some travel may be required – up to 5%; for remote positions, travel to HQ may be approximately 10 - 15%.

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $148,880 - $193,600 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
