About the Role

The Clinical Development Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the clinical development team in clinical research and contributing to the development of ophthalmic pharmaceuticals. Reporting to senior leaders, the intern will actively participate in various aspects of clinical development through collaborations with cross-functional teams and will acquire valuable insights into the field of ophthalmic drug development.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

  • Contribute to different aspects of clinical trial development including but not limited to clinical trial protocols, informed consent forms, case report forms, grading scales, instructional materials for patients, and clinical trial registries.
  • Prepare clinical trial training materials such as PowerPoint presentations, instructional materials for sites, etc.
  • Assist with data review, analysis, and clinical study report writing.
  • Perform literature review summaries for relevant topics related to current projects.
  • Interact with Clinical Trial Study Manager/Clinical Research Associate to gain exposure to the collaborative development process associated with executing a clinical trial.
  • Take on clinical development and operations projects as needed to assist the team.

Factors for Success:

  • OD / MD candidate, PharmD / PhD candidate, or graduate student in the health sciences field within two years of graduation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic statistical knowledge.

  • This position reports directly to our Associate Director, Clinical Development.

The expected base pay range for this position is $40hr for a graduate student. This pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
