About the Role

Are you an innovative and creative student who enjoys critical thinking and data driven analysis? Are you an aspiring OD, MD, PhD, PharmD, or a graduate student in the health sciences field who is proficient with technology and curious about what it takes to work with or be a part of a clinical development team in the pharmaceutical industry? If so, consider our Tarsus Clinical Development team for your summer internship.

The Clinical Development Intern will be an integral part of our ophthalmic clinical research efforts. This role is essential in supporting the clinical development team and contributing to the design and development of study protocols for ophthalmic clinical trials. Under the guidance of senior leaders, you will engage in various clinical development activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams, gaining comprehensive exposure to the clinical development process and the pharmaceutical industry.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

• Contribute to different key aspects of clinical trial development including but not limited to developing clinical trial protocols, informed consent forms, case report forms, grading scales, instructional materials for patients, and clinical study reports.
• Develop clinical trial training materials such as PowerPoint presentations, instructional materials for sites, etc.
• Assist with data review and perform data analysis.
• Conduct research on scientific topics, regulatory information, and/or competitive intelligence.
• Interact with Clinical Trial Study Manager/Clinical Research Associate to gain exposure to the collaborative development process associated with executing a clinical trial.
• Take on clinical development and operations projects as needed to assist the team.

Factors for Success:

• OD/MD/PharmD/PhD candidate, or graduate student in the health sciences field within two years of graduation.
• Knowledge of eyecare and/or vision science is strongly preferred
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to manage priorities and workflow.
• A willingness to try new things and voice thoughts, considerations, and concerns.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Basic statistical knowledge.

The expected hourly pay for this position is $44/hour for a graduate student.
