The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your analytical expertise to identify high-risk transactions, optimize credit strategies, and monitor credit portfolios for potential delinquencies or defaults. You will collaborate closely with cross- functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and legal, to ensure compliance with credit policies and address credit-related challenges. If you are passionate about driving impactful credit strategies in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we invite you to apply.

Day to day responsibilities

  • Analysing data to find patterns of high-risk transactions from a credit point-of-view.
  • Optimising credit strategies for profitability, loss rates, approval rate and other KPIs.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and legal to ensure compliance with credit policies, resolve credit-related issues, and provide guidance on credit risk matters.
  • Monitoring the credit portfolios to identify and assess any changes in credit risk exposure. This may involve tracking credit performance, conducting periodic reviews, and identifying potential delinquencies or defaults.
  • Preparing reports and documentation summarising credit risk findings, trends, and recommendations for management, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Staying updated on market trends, economic developments, and industry-specific factors that may impact credit risk.
  • Interacting with data providers (especially credit bureaus), preparing samples for retro analysis, and assessing their solutions.

We're looking for...

  • Over 2 years of experience in data analytics and insight generation.
  • A strong SQL background with experience in querying large data lakes/data warehouses.
  • Experience in data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Strong understanding of how the lending/credit card/BNPL industry works.
  • A champion of metrics and the measurement of impact, with the inquisitive acumen to explain the “why”, not just the “what”.
  • A team player who enjoys a collaborative and fast paced agile environment.
  • An analyst keen to contribute to existing initiatives, develop new strategies and confident to make recommendations.
  • Someone with data experience within growth who can create analytical insights that can be incorporated into key decision making.
  • Good stakeholder management experience with the ability to prioritise delivery.
  • Can work independently as well as within a team.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, organise, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail.

Bonus Skills:

  • A financial technology or B2C scale-up background.
