About the role.

Finance is at the heart of Zilch, partnering closely with Leadership and the wider business to deliver insights, set plans and ensure we are maximising our growth potential. FP&A plays a critical role in driving this performance culture, ensuring we’re focused on what matters and that we’re always on track.

We are now seeking an exceptional Director of FP&A to lead Zilch’s planning, forecasting and performance framework, while developing a high-performing FP&A team. In this role, you will shape our financial planning architecture, drive high-quality insight generation, and lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles that support Zilch’s strategic ambitions.

You will elevate the quality and clarity of financial decision-making across the business, working closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment on priorities and plans. As a trusted partner to the CFO, Executive Committee and wider leadership, this role offers meaningful exposure to the Executive Committee, Board and investors, and plays a central role in Zilch’s next phase of growth.

Day to day responsibilities.

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting cycles, setting clear targets and holding the business accountable for delivery.
  • Own the forecasting and scenario analysis for our operating plan, from topline growth to liquidity constraints.
  • Provide forward-looking insights that guide strategic decision-making and ensure plans remain aligned with Zilch’s priorities.

Performance Management & Executive Reporting

  • Steer the business towards the highest-impact priorities by leading monthly performance reporting and hosting monthly management reviews with senior leadership.
  • Provide clear, commercial, and data-driven insights to influence strategic decision-making across the business.
  • Take ownership of financial reporting to the Board of Directors and shareholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy and strong narratives.
  • Serve as a key member of the Asset & Liability Committee, contributing meaningfully to liquidity planning and risk management.
  • Champion a strong culture of verification within FP&A, ensuring assumptions and outputs are well-evidenced, validated, and aligned with Financial Reporting so that internal and external reporting remain consistent and reliable.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop the FP&A team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
  • Set clear standards for modelling, analysis and communication, and support the team in developing both technical and commercial capability.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with our Leadership team, Finance and functional leaders across the business to ensure alignment of plans, priorities and outcomes.
  • Partner with Corporate Development and other Finance squads to ensure financial performance, strategic initiatives and business plans are fully integrated.

Systems & Tooling

  • Own the FP&A systems environment (currently Anaplan), ensuring models, processes and reporting are scalable, robust and user-friendly.
  • Drive the adoption of planning tools across Zilch, enabling automation, standardisation and self-serve insights.

What we're looking for...

  • Extensive FP&A leadership experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth or fintech environment.
  • Exceptional financial modelling capability, including building and leading three-statement models.
  • Strong financial systems experience (dimensional planning tools ideal).
  • Proven track record managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills - comfortable presenting complex financial information to senior non-finance audiences.
  • Strong accounting acumen and ability to interpret financial and operational performance.
  • A disciplined approach to verification and documentation, ensuring data integrity and alignment across Finance teams.
  • Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to influence at all levels.

Bonus Skills.

  • Experience with complex liquidity / Treasury modelling
  • Experience within the fintech ecosystem
  • Netsuite experience
  • Experience with Anaplan or similar planning software
  • SQL experience - we work closely with Data, but some ability to self-serve is required.
